Paul Lekhraj's answer to why he doesn't pay his employees and retain long-term staff: "If I don't pay you it won't affect your lifestyle anyway"

WARNING:
Many people have posted here that a lot of trucking companies are NOT paying the drivers/owner ops,
so to avoid becoming another person ripped-off by disreputable employers,
I recommend the following:

Before beginning work for the employer, post a query asking if the employer has ripped-off anyone & keep posting
your query, because these companies will delete your posting.

Also check with the BBB, the business licensing department of the city hall of the municipality where the business is located
(to check whether they have a business license & to lodge a complaint); & check/complain with/to the Canada Revenue Agency & WorkSafe BC,
to see whether anyone has contacted them to complain that they've been ripped-off.

If you cross provincial borders & are NOT being paid, contact the following federal government department:
www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/lp/spila/clli/eslc/01employment_standards_legislation_in_...

If you do not cross provincial borders and are NOT being paid, contact the following provincial government department and fill out this form:

http://www.labour.gov.bc.ca/esb/forms/pdf/complaint.pdf

and send it to http://www.labour.gov.bc.ca/esb/

If you are ripped-off wages/income, contact the above organisations to report the company. Plus, contact the media to inform them.

NOTE: Typically, there are deadlines that apply when submitting the paperwork, so ensure you find out what the deadline is.

This page is dedicated to tailing Affordable movers in an effort to hold them accountable. These cowards refuse to take full commercial liability for their agreements and are actively hiding from law enforcement.

They recently put an ad on Craiglist:
http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/van/trp/1715960238.html

They do this ad posting on craigslist near the end of the month every month. It is on call and there are nobody that works for them longer than a couple days because they never get paid.

I'm an experienced professional class 1 driver and I was looking for work when I saw this company's job posting on Craiglist. I have excellent references and do excellent work. As we all know transport companies are high risk for committing non-payment for services owed especially small companies like affordable movers. When you try going to his website http://affordablemoversbc.com/aboutus.html there is no legal business address where they can take full legal liability for any business you do for them as either an employee or customer. On the initial phone call I asked to meet at their home office. He said he doesn't want to give out his home office address or office address, and gave some excuse as to why. When he refused to provide his legal business address where we could meet for an interview I asked to see two pieces of government issued ID. He refused to do that and questioned if he will get to see mine and I assured him he would see mine during the application process.

If you try and fill out a complaint with the BC Employment Standards Branch or federal labour board because you did not get paid or had difficulty with your pay you will have difficulty because this company is doing business with you anonymously and you don't have all their information to serve them the complaint.

On their business Card there is no address mentioned either. This is truly the definition of a fly-by-night company and I would recommend you avoid them and go with a reputable company such as Bekins Moving which are recommended by one of my friends who is the president of the Better Business Bureau.
